The Oracle EPM 23.06 updates included the exciting new functionality known as Data Pipeline. Let’s examine in this article how we can manage the variables a Pipeline uses.

If you are interested to know more about Data Pipeline, head over to the Oracle’s documentation here.

Accessing Variables

Navigate to Data Exchange and select the options button towards the right of an existing Data Pipeline. Click Pipeline Details.

Data Exchange

In the next screen, click on the “Edit Pipeline” button.

Pipeline Details

In the popup window, you will see two tabs: Details and Variables. Click on the Variables Tab to view and edit existing variables and add new variables.

List of Variables

Once you have made changes to the Variables, click on Save button to save any changes.

Editing a Variable

Let’s try editing a variable. We will attach a custom list for the SEND_TO variable. Custom List allows you to provide user defined list of values. To use this validation type, provide a list of values in the Validation Parameter window. The values must be specified in a Label, Value format and every line must end with a new line. For Example,

  • EPM Admin, epmadmin@example.com
  • ERP Admin, erpadmin@example.com

As shown in the image above, change the Validation Type to Custom List. Once you make that change, the Validation Parameters section will show an “Edit” icon. Click on the edit icon to provide the custom list of values.
